So you decided to build a backyard rink this year and your are wondering when the right time is to set it up?
You don’t have to wait for freezing temperatures to build your structure! Typically you should consider installing your frame in November or December and your liner in December or January depending on weather forecasts. If you miss these time periods, don’t worry! You can install your rink during the cold winter months!
The best time to build the structure (without the liner) is during mild temperatures after you finished your fall cleaning! This will allow you to profit from milder temperatures while setting it up and to better profit from your time when the cold sets in!
Ensure your grass is cut short and to clean up all leaves and any other debris before setting up the frame. Once your frame is set up, wait to install your liner as it could be damaged by curious animals or falling branches!
Once the forecast will show a period of cold weather you are ready to install your liner!
